Setting up for success

Setting goals, creating plans to achieve them, and working at those plans in the best way for us is the most powerful way to get where we want to be.

However many people find themselves getting stuck, unable to make the leaps needed or self-sabotaging their success.

There are many areas of your life that you may want to set goals for, such as; career, finances, family, relationships, health and wellness (physical and mental), self-growth, learning, travel, social life, spirituality, creativity… and so much more.

Whatever your goal, at some point you will usually need to step outside your comfort zone and do something different. This is the point where things can get stuck and feel really tricky, or scary, or just impossible.

The first step is to look at why you’re setting the goal – get clarity on what it means to you, and what you will gain (and lose). This will tell you a lot about your motivations and whether it’s something you truly want, or a “should”.

After exploring the goal, the next step is to create a plan to achieve your goal. This usually looks like a timeline of mini-goals that lead up to the big finale. However, these aren’t so great for anything that involves humans, with all their variability and humanness. I use non-linear approaches with my clients to work with and embrace the uniqueness of their working preferences and lifestyles.

Lastly, we incorporate ways to work best for you, allowing you to access a ‘flow’ state and get the most out of your time. And enjoy it!
