Setting better boundaries

Boundaries are the way we communicate our expectations and needs in our relationships so we can feel safe and understood.

They allow us to set and express our needs and expectations to others and help us manage our energy, time, emotions, and resources.

When our boundaries are poor, it can feel like we’re being ignored, being walked over and we don’t matter. You might also feel angry, anxious and avoid confrontation.

It can feel tricky to set boundaries for many reasons, and that can leave you feeling like you’re stuck, not able to make decisions, and that you can’t trust yourself to follow your goals. You might be unsure about how to set boundaries without being rude or unkind, or you like being the ‘yes’ person who is there when other people need you, or you might have stories from your childhood about who you can set boundaries with and for what.

By combining hypnotherapy and coaching, I can help you to redefine your relationship with boundaries and feel empowered to be assertive and make the best decisions for you.

Setting healthy boundaries goes beyond simply saying ‘no’ to people and situations. It’s all about having clarity around your needs and limits, trusting your intuition and decisions, and taking up the space you need to; physically, mentally and energetically.

To help you set and hold your boundaries, we will establish effective ways to communicate your needs and boundaries in a way that aligns with your values and feels grounded and authentic. You’ll build confidence in yourself and your ability to make decisions, advocate for your needs and support yourself moment to moment.

5 ways that hypnotherapy and coaching can help:

  • Explore your subconscious mind to unveil the narratives, patterns and beliefs that might be holding you back with setting boundaries.
  • Cultivate a more empowering mindset that supports setting and upholding healthy boundaries, being confident and assertive in your decisions, and protecting your well-being without feeling guilty.
  • Learn to trust your gut – helping you tap into your body-mind connection and really recognise where your boundaries are and how to make decisions from a healthy, grounded space.
  • Be able to take up the space you need to and keep promises and commitments to yourself without judgement or self-chastisement.
  • Assertively advocate for your needs without obligation, expectation, judgement or self-sacrifice.
